Village of Saint Jean de Cuculles

St Jean de Cuculles is an old medieval village, dominated by the Pic St Loup and the ruins of the castle of Montferrand. Perched on a hill, this small wine village of 400 inhabitants, is set in a calm and preserved environment.

The old village surrounding the eleventh century Romanesque church, still retains vestiges of the fortified walls. St Jean de Cuculles keeps a rural and friendly atmosphere, while being only 16 km from the ancient city of Montpellier, renowned for its pedestrian old town, boutique shopping, pretty cafes and wonderful restaurants.

The surrounding villages have kept certain traditions such as the village fête with bull running of the “Camargue”, playing tambourine games , bowls competitions.
